How is Russia dealing with the energy transition? Gas and oil are indispensable to keep Russia going. Up to a half of the government revenues are related to energy. This business model cannot be maintained indefinitely. Certainly not now that the countries to which the Russians sell their gas and oil are engaged in an energy transition. Tatiana Mitrova will elaborate on the Russian future outlook of energy.
Oil and gas exports form a significant part of Russia’s revenues, but there are warnings to the policy; economic growth could be limited for the next two decades if Russia does not go on the alternative energy tour. What is their plan?
