How do we change the Industrial Sector?

Our industry dependents almost entirely on fossil energy. When we reach 2050, the industry will have fundamentally changed. The biggest challenge for the industry is to achieve the CO2 targets in economically responsible steps. The biggest question is; How? Tareq Emtairah will share his experiences and dive deeper in this complex matter.

The steel industry, the refining sector and the (petro) chemical industry are jointly responsible for up to 22 percent of the worldwide CO2 emissions. The different industry sectors have different production processes, each with different energy needs. Yet there are also many similarities in the transition options: process efficiency, electrification, alternative fuels or sustainable energy generation. This offers opportunities, but requires quality cooperation.
